Report From Mazaruni Prisons

Hello Friends of Guyana,

I have a wonderful report about the Mazaruni Prisons. These two prisons that are a long way from all the other ministry our staff does weekly. Both prisons are on a huge island in the Essequibo River. The other prisons are within a few hours drive and are visited weekly for ministry but they only go to Mazaruni a few times a year. We decided that it is worth the extra money and time to start going every other month. They tried to go the day before the Pastor Training Trip last month and made the trip half way and spent the night in a hotel. The next morning they were ready to get on the boat and it was canceled due to the terrible weather conditions so they couldn't go to the Mazaruni Prisons.

This Thursday they went to Lusignan Prison near Georgetown then spent the night in hotel in Parika near the dock. Friday morning, they traveled by boat about 1 1/2 hours to the prisons and held a service at each prison. When they told the inmates that they were going to begin coming every other month, the inmates CHEERED!!!! Between the two prisons, there were 23 men who accepted Christ on Friday. What a joy to bring the Good News to the least of these. We love to teach them that even though they are behind bars, they can be free.

They took the boat back to Parika and then because of heavy traffic, it took over 6 hours to drive home. I am so grateful for our 4 man team who are willing to work so hard and humbly to share Christ with as many people as possible.

Please pray for God's ministry in Guyana.
