Praise Report from Christmas Events

Dear Guyana Friends,

Jai's email is not working right now so he asked me to send out the report from this week. It was a wonderful week of ministry in all the prisons and 2 Girl's Homes.

There were 107 inmates who indicated that they accepted Christ. 69 of them were from the 2 Mazaruni Prisons. These 2 prisons are on a huge island in a huge river. It takes 2 hours by boat to reach them. Our ministry hasn't been there in 5 years. We usually go every 2-3 years but a visit was canceled for reasons out of our control. The warden is a very good friend of our ministry and he was so glad to have us back. There were a lot of men who hadn't heard the Gospel preached and that is why the number of salvations was so large. I was overwhelmed when Jai told me about one man who had received a bracelet from us 5 years ago. The bracelets are the ones with the colored beads that tell the salvation story. The strap on his bracelet had broken so he found a rubber band and put his beads around his ankle and was still wearing it after 5 years. I am so grateful for decisions that have been made over the years. 

We have decided to start going back to Mazaruni much more often even though it costs about $500 per trip because of renting the boat and a few other expenses related to the trip. We would love to go every two months to be able to teach and disciple these men like we do the inmates in the prisons that are closer. If God lays it on anyone's heart to help with the expenses of this new outreach, we would love help as it will be $3000 per year more than usual. See below how to give.

The Christmas parties for the Girls' Homes were wonderful, too. Mahaica has 35 girls and 4 babies. Hararuni has 14 girls. We love being able to minister to these girls throughout the year. 

Thank you all for your prayers and support for God's ministry in Guyana. This year there have been 2,221 salvations. We started working in Guyana in November, 19 years ago (2006). We have now had 33,927 people indicate that they have accepted Jesus. We are so amazed at what God has done.
